The name change is to better a-line the class with our regular Power

Yin Yoga comes to the Yoga Shala:
New Shala Instructor Anita Rosebush will be offering
Yin Yoga Noon on Mondays:
In Yin Yoga specific postures are held passively for
3 – 5 minutes to access the dense fibrous ligaments or connective tissues of
the joints. The intention is to
stimulate circulation in less flexible areas closest to the core of the body,
the hips, lower back and sacrum. When
holding a posture without striving, a gentle tension is applied to the
connective tissue that begins to counteract the effects of aging and
gravity. This is how Yin Yoga can
preserve and increase the range of motion in our joints. Yin Yoga encourages the use of prana and mindfulness
readying one for meditation.
