I hope this newsletter finds you all well and growing in
your practice. I would first off like to thank you all for your continued
support of the Shala. As we move into the
second month of the new year we have some very
exciting new offerings at the Shala all to help you
grow in your practice of yoga. Thanks again and hope to see you in the Shala soon.

Ashtanga Yoga back at the Shala:
After a short hiatus Ashtanga Yoga is back at the Shala.
Wednesday 6:45PM Kimberly leads this vigorous style of yoga. If you have
missed it, it’s back so get in here.
Express Yoga class:
Starting Wednesday
Feb. 6th at 12:15PM the Shala will be
offering a 45 minute Yoga Express class. A class devoted to sun &
lunar salutations, with quick flowing vinyasa.
A quick mid-day pick me up.
Shala 101:
Starting in February,
the Yoga Shala will be offering a monthly workshop
series Shala 101. These two hour
workshops offered the third Saturday of every month will give the students a
more in depth look at various aspects of the yoga practice. Not only the
asana (posture) practice but will also give classes in other aspects of the
yoga tradition. These classes will be reasonable priced to help you
deepen your practice. Feb. 16 will be our first class going over the Sun
and Lunar salutations. Future classes will cover other subjects such as pranayama (breath exercises), meditation along with other
yoga related subjects. Make it a point to join us the third Saturday of
every month to help you learn more and grow in your practice of yoga.
Shala 101
Sun and Lunar Salutation Workshop
February 16th 11:00 – 1:00
The first of our Shala 101 workshops will concentrate on the Sun and Lunar
Salutations. The traditional Ashtanga Sun
Salutations series A & B along with variations used in Power classes. Lunar
Salutations A and B used in both Power and Flow classes will be reviewed
also. Helpful modifications will be given to help students gain
confidence and strength while working with the salutations. We will
review the history, purpose, philosophy then break down each posture in these
series, review transitional moves, alignment and breathing techniques.
